To kick off the series, I want to share my 5 biggest misconceptions about running your own business in a brand new video. Before founding Hoot, I worked at a big class-act agency in Chicago and, let me tell you, my expectations of being my own boss were a far cry from the reality of operating a successful full-scale marketing agency.

Now I want to share my experiences with other business owners and start a dialogue. Let's see what we can learn from each other to make our businesses stronger.

My 5 biggest misconceptions about running your own business:

I've learned a lot in my 6+ years of owning and operating Hoot. There have been ups, downs, and everything you can imagine in between. But you know what? I've made it through by learning from my past mistakes and refocusing my business mindset.
